Consider when you turned from being a kid into becoming a serious grown up. Did you keep that kid in your heart?
Maybe this will make you think about whats real and what is not…
After growing up we sometimes miss important things. We miss things that are right in front of our face. We become serious and loose touch of the imagination of our childhoods and refuse to enjoy some simply, and beautiful things. How does this happen? Is it because we become surrounded by the wrong things, falling out of touch with what is important? Is it because we dismiss magical things as something only for kids?
Maybe it could be because we are blinded from ourselves sometimes with all the distractions going on around us.
We seek the magical in movies or books. There is nothing wrong with that, but you can loose touch with what is important too.
When creating art, that connection with the simple beauty of life around you is important. Art is not a serious thing. It is not something that is only done by ancient masters living on top of a mountain who descend to let the “ordinary people” know what is good or not.
Your art, your creativity, is not something that must be set and limited by a “grown up” reality. This is the impression you get when you read newspapers, research books and see people who have “made it”.
